CARPS Bloodmoon Event October 24-27

The Bloodmoon, a time when the deepest evils in Phantara creep out in the night, is upon us and the weather is fine for mortal combat, intrigue, and excitement! Face your enemies with your chosen weapon and fight for your lives, your kingdom, your honor... and treasure!

The Heros of Legacy have returned from a world drenched in the evils of Necromancy, to a world where they are thought long dead. Join their struggle to defend their Kingdom's land against the armies of the necromatic Red Tear, the scaly Kunapan, and the treacherously lethal Avyanna. Help them defeat their enemies once and for all!

CARPS is one of the longest-running boffer LARPs in Michigan. Immerse yourself in the rich, fully developed fantasy world of Phantara.
Choose among elves, dwarves, humans, guthrie (halfling), gnomes, valkin-vi (similar to human), orcs or avyanna (bird men). A
vast array of point-bought skills let you custom tailor your character to exactly what you want to be. Don't be stuck in a "class," be a
Warrior who can pick locks, scroll cast, and make your own healing potions! Be a Mage who can hide in the deepest of shadows for
protection, defend with a sword if you'd like, and spot the hidden door in the dungeon!

Our political structure is amazingly detailed. Join a royal House to serve your King with the official functions of government, or join a
Guild to practice your trade. Gain influence with other Houses and Guilds to pull in favors!

CARPS June 27-29

As the summer's heat encroaches, the heroes of Phantara struggle to free themselves from a plane of existence sapped of nearly all of it's essence power by the evil necromancers who rule it. Will they find the "keys" out of the dying realm in time to escape the Necromancer's clutches? Will they be able to save the few people of the "Dead World" who have managed to evade being captured and sucked dry of their very life force?

Take this opportunity to play one of Michigan's longest-running boffer LARPs. Immerse yourself in the rich, fully developed fantasy world of Phantara. Choose among elves, dwarves, humans, guthrie (halfling), gnomes, valkin-vi (a race close to human), orcs or avayanna (bird men). A vast array of point-bought skills let you custom tailor your character to exactly what you want to be. Don't be stuck in a "class;" be a Warrior who can pick locks, scroll cast, and make your own healing potions! Be a Mage who can hide in the deepest of shadows for
protection, defend with a sword if you'd like, and spot the hidden door in the dungeon!

Dagorhir/Maethodoron on YouTube

I recently posted a bunch of videos from our local Dagorhir chapter:

Maethodoron: Living the Adventure
Maethodoron, a chapter of the national organization Dagorhir, combines the imagination of roleplaying with the energy of a full-contact sport. Documentary, 2007.

Maethodoron Winter Event 2007
This covers our winter event last year. Includes interviews on how Maethodoron was formed! This was split into three parts to fit YouTube's time limit. Documentary, 2007.

Battle Lords
A bored gamer dreams of adventure during a nap in the middle of a game. Not exactly Dagorhir, but made by Dagohir people based on their characters! Fantasy, 2007.

Why boffer swordfighting is better than...

Football: In football, you grab a ball and run away as fast as you can. We don't run away, we face our opponent head on!

Wrestling: It doesn't matter how much or how little you weigh, and you don't have to wear tights (unless you really want to).

Golf: Does this need explaining?

Hockey: Hitting someone with a stick in hockey is punished. In our sport, we encourage it!

Video games: Anybody can push a button to swing a sword. Wouldn't you rather do it yourself?

Renaissance festivals: Why sit on the sidelines and watch when you can live it?

Role-playing games: It's far less satisfying to roll dice than to smack someone with a stick.

Watching movies: See Renaissance festivals.

Cheerleading: See golf.
